Ok, so this place is sick...After driving through snow covered mountains, then through cow and sheep covered rolling pastures, you come to the abel tasman sea on your right, then you dive through a valley and you are here. The roads are crazy, all single lane and fast. I am at the X backpackers. we have a four bedroom dorm we are sharing with one other tonight, haven't met him yet. we are going out for happy hour. A good night to get drunk. Tornados in Illinois? cheers.

Batavia's Tornado:
The big low circulating wall cloud formed just over Cherry Park, a mile to the south of my house. I didn't see a funnel come down.. most of the damage seemed to be further north and happened later. I was at Isabella's getting debriefed on Don and Carol's trip to Napoli and Roma when the rains came..main street Geneva was a river with water flowing up on the sidewalks. many trees down in south Geneva near Fabyan.
The Bears get their first tough outing this Sunday vs Minn..I think I'll make chili..the two previous match-ups with Lions and the Pack were gifts. Lions can't hold onto the ball and the Packers are not having a good year.
OK, G, keep the travelogue coming..this is great..
NZ is really gorgeous. The Google satellite maps are quite good, as are the webcams.

I was just editing a video I made possibly of the tornadic event you describe here and was doing a little research online to gather more info and stumbled across your comment. It does sound like the same event and Millington was the area of a confirmed brief touchdown.
