Labour Weekend

So we had our NZ labour weekend this past weekend. Checked the map for warm weather, but it said cold and rainy on both islands everywhere except for Gisborne. It was a 6 hour drive from Auckland. When we got there on saturday about 6 pm, it was 75 degrees, sunny, and the beaches looked incredible. I was very excited to spend the whole next day learning how to surf and snorkeling in pristine waters. We camped out and a gail came over the mountains in the middle of the night, keeping us up with like 50 mph winds hitting our tent. We woke up to a gray, cool, dreary day. we snorkeled anyway though, and actuallly snorkeled with a decent sized stingray. We were just about to get out, our intentions being to see if we could fiund crabs, lobsters, and possibly some good sized fish. Standing on the shores, we noticed this guy, bout 3 foot in diameter, cruise right around us a couple of times, within 3 feet. It was pretty cool, definitely the first wildlife we have seen. There are also some cool waterfalls and a huge 60 meter rockslide we were hoping to hit up, but the weather stunk. Anyways, here is a picture from Gisborne, and one from our apartment, and maybe some other shit...okay take care

Beautiful stuff G. Looks like Gisborne was the place that weekend. Glad to here you found a better internet parlor. Internet is best done on beer [and that's coming from wine country. I've just enjoyed visiting Davis and an excursion to Napa, but am disappointed at so much smog in SF... can barely make out the Golden Gate Bridge.]
Hopefully you don't run into any hungry great whites snorkeling for people.

love, Dad

Graham,

I got your message, so did Steve. Thanks! So good to hear from you! We'll try again soon to speak over Skyp or the phone.

We were at the old 302 restaurant last night...it's now an Italian place. Still looks great but the food is mediocre.
Still, we had a good time with Dr. Bishop and his wife and another couple.

I'm helping Kate pull together a Halloween costume today (pregnant Britney Spears -- it's hilarious!). This morning Steve and I walked into town for breakfast at Kathy's Diner...reminded me of all those great lunches you and I had there.

What a great series of pictures on this blog. The views of the beach at Gisborne are breathtaking.

Hey, are you eligible for healthcare in New Zealand?

Love you, miss you,

Mom

Graham,

How cool. Haven't been out here for a while. Hope everything's going good. Are you working? Bet you guys are excited for the holidays when the family comes for a visit. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on the Bears for you. Last night, as I'm sure you know, they did outstanding against the Giants, 38-20 Bears Win! Love you! Carla

Hey Graham,

Did you hear? We have a puppy! I finally broke down and
decided it was time to give it another shot. We love her! She's a mixed breed shitzu/poodle, very smart and cute. Katie and I picked her out on Sunday and then took Steve back to have a look. He is crazy about her. She's 9 weeks old. He named her Rexi. At last Steve has a pet of his own. Soooo much fun, very good, and really smart. Can't wait for you to meet her. Jenny has agreed to watch her whenever we're gone. How can we go wrong?

I heard from the mail service that you got your DVDs. Hope you and Shelly are enjoying them.

Katie got sworn in as a lawyer last Thursday. It was about 70 degrees here that day. Katie was so happy. There were about 200 people sworn in that day. I met Namit's parents too and some of her other law school friends. Then we went out for mimosa and lunch. I have some great pictures I'll get to you. Yes, I cried.

Maggie got married this weekend. It was a beautiful wedding, in Geneva. Maggie looked amazing. So did Katie C. Yes, I cried.

So, what new things have you been doing? Any new mountain bike trails or snorkeling adventures? Write soon.

Love you,

Mom

TaylorMade's Vincent disagrees. Titleist This season on the PGA Tour, TaylorMade's staff players have used a mixture of the two drivers. Just about everything that could possibly go wrong did go wrong, Daly says. There are so many of them that I don't know if I can play in all of them.
